The Zoo: Bears

The Bears were not that interesting. They just walked away when we got there. But there was a very fun, kid-sized bear cave next to the exhibit that Preston and Eva had fun playing in.

The Zoo: Peacocks

These are the peacocks. They just roamed free through the park.

The Zoo: Gorillas

The gorillas were probably the most fun. They imitated some of the things we did and were quite active, eating, playing and taking care of a little baby gorilla, while we were visiting. The video in the middle should be watched first. There are some good pictures too.

This is the mommy gorilla, she draped this blanket over herself all by herself!

This guy ate a lot while we were there. We are also guessing that he is the daddy gorilla because he went over to the mommy gorilla and gave her two of his carrots.

This is Preston sitting on a bench as far away from the gorillas as we would let him go while we were there. He didn't want to be there at all and kept trying to walk away. He finally agreed to wait patiently on this bench for mommy, daddy and Eva to finish visiting the gorillas.

This is the baby gorilla, about one year old.

Here is a close up of the daddy one that scared Preston.

The mommy and baby together.

This is as close as Preston got, with my arm around him. This picture was taken before the gorilla scared him.

In this video Preston gets brave enough to wave at the gorilla and even blow him a kiss, before it kisses back and scares him away forever.

The Zoo: Birdies

The birdies were another exciting animal to see at the zoo. We couldn't stand to stay in there long because of the smell. Birds really stink. I think the zoo really helped us to reaffirm our conviction of never owning animals. They are great fun to visit though!

And the video won't load so we will try that later...

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Giraffes

We just got back from our big Colorado trip. We had lots of fun on this much needed vacation. Mommy didn't even throw up during the ten hour drive! Daddy did his best at the wrestling tournament and we are all very proud of him. We are all preparing to work even harder for the next one!

We got some funny pictures and videos at the zoo. Our experiences with the animals were really quite awesome. Preston was only afraid of anything that moved, other than that he really enjoyed it! Eva thought everything was so interesting and entertaining. She really liked the monkeys, just like her aunt Kellie.

Here are the giraffe pictures and videos:
