Funny Moment

Grandma: Wow, you are such a good boy!
Preston: I'm not good -- I'm two!!!

Little Excerpts of Preston's Conversations

Preston riding his bike from the top of the driveway to the bottom:
"On marks, get set, GO!"

Preston hears Eva crying:
"You dropped your car, Eva. Eva, you dropped your car!" He climbs under the desk and retrieves it. "Here you go, Eva." Eva cries louder. (The car was not the problem).

We were about to go to Logan with Grandma Hunter. I told him she was going to drive because she was big enough. He goes up to Grandma Hunter: "Grandma, ready to go! Ready to go! You drive. I too little."

Talking to me, out of the blue in the car: "Mommy, Preston a good boy?" I assured him that he is.

I asked him what he did in Nursery. He always says "played ball, snacks, crackers and water." Then, the other day he said, "sang songs on the carpet." Then, even later, he says to me "sang song: Book of Mormon Stories" -- while doing the motion that they taught him for the song. Then, I asked him to tell daddy what song they sang in nursery and he says "popcorn popping on the tree, with the glasses" showing us the motion of making his hands into glasses over his eyes. He knows more than I ever figure out that he knows.

More later, just didn't want to forget those ones.

Preston Loves to Dance (Daddy too!)

Kim, you will probably appreciate this the most. Preston really has some great dance skills. They really make me smile. Preston just has so much style!

I love my kids!

Everyone just has to see this:

Preston Prays for Daddy

I told Preston that Daddy had a hard test and asked if he wanted to help me say a prayer for him. He folded his arms and repeated after me.

I said, "Dear Heavenly Father, we ask thee to bless..."
And Preston said, "Bless daddy on hard test," all by himself. It was very sweet.

Thanks Grandma!

Preston was very happy to discover his Spiderman backpack. Now he feels very official when he "goes to school." He'll say "Bye mommy, I am going to school! -- Be Safe! I'm going to school with my backpack! My spiderman backpack!" He is very spoiled!

Eva's First Swim

Eva loved the water! She loved to splash, even when she was splashing herself in the face -- she thought it was awesome! She just smiled and cooed and giggled the entire time. Preston loved playing in the water with her. I didn't get any water shots because it was just me and them.

Preston Wrestling Eva

I kind of let it go on longer than I usually would for the purpose of getting it on video. He is just so cute, but really...we teach him not to wrestle girls.

Preston Makes Eva Laugh

Eva Finds Her Toes and Her First Teeth!

She is so proud! She really is not very interested in them though, she was only entertained for a few moments. I think she mostly liked that she could grab them with such control. Not a toe-eater, for sure.

Ghost baby effect with this pic, but you can see those two cute teeth!

The left one started to come in first, but they arrived on the scene at pretty much the same time. She has been really good so far with teething, not really sleeping less...and no ear aches! Hopefully this keeps up!

Random Pictures, Random Stories

Preston in Daddy's wrestling singlet. He knows a lot of moves and is only 2! Check out his awesome wrestling stance!

Cute Eva smile.

Preston and Daddy at BYU.

GG with Eva and Preston. Check out Eva's smile! Preston is just checking out the food.

Eva is now pulling Preston's hair -- she gets him back sometimes!

These are random, not in order of when they happened, stories. I haven't written down all these cute things and I know I already lost some!

Eva is crying in the car on the way home.
Preston: Eva, it's okay, Eva. Look at the sky! Look at the sky! (Arms spreading out in a circle and upward as if to motion her to look up).
Eva: keeps crying.
Preston: No crying, Eva! Be HAPPY!
Eva: cries louder
Mommy: Don't yell at her to be happy, that makes her sad.
Preston: Sing her a song mommy!
Mommy: Let's both sing her a song. (I start singing "oooh, oooh, oooh" so Preston can join in).
Preston: Oooh, ooooh, oooh...
Eva: ooooh, ooooh, ooooh
No kidding, really happened....so SWEET!

I tell Preston all the time that he will never ride a motorcycle. He is completely enthralled with them and every time we see them on our way back and forth to BYU, he shouts out "Can I ride a moto (Portuguese for motorcycle) mommy!?" mutliple times. I always say, "Nunca, nunca" --meaning "Never, never."
Daddy is driving. Preston sees a motorcycle.
Preston: Can I ride a moto daddy!? Can I ride a moto daddy? . . . Mommy diz "nunca, nunca!"
("diz" means "says").
Yesterday, Eva is taking a nap. Preston suddenly decides out of the blue: "I need to go see Eva." And so he walked all the way downstairs. I lifted him up and let him see her in the crib. He is just so cute.
Preston calls the doorbell the "dingbell" and I don't correct him. It is just too sweet.

He will typically ask "Can I want some..." whatever he wants. I have answered "You can want whatever you want, but it doesn't mean you can have some." But that answer doesn't satisfy him.
Eva has perfected the half trick, I will have to get a video soon.
Preston: Where's Daddy?
Mommy: Daddy is at school.
Preston: Daddy's at school?
Mommy: yep.
Preston: Daddy's at B-Y-U?
Mommy: Yep, Daddy's at BYU.
Preston says all the time now, "Can I go to BYU too?"
Preston is big on "Can I touch it?" lately as well. Whatever "it" is, he is asking "Can I touch it?"
We watched "A Night at the Museum" on our laptop with Preston the other day. A couple days later, Daddy picks up two pennies and shows them to Preston. Preston takes them and starts to put them in his ear.
Preston: Goes in my ear! See?
Daddy and Mommy: Don't put it in your ear.
Preston: It's in my ear, like the movie.
Mommy: What movie?
Preston: Like the movie on the computer! See? (Still putting it in his ear).
Mommy: Oh! Magic like the guy did on the movie!
Preston: Magic! See?!
We then instructed him on how to put it behind his ear, instead of in his ear.
Preston: Can I go to GG's house? ... Can I want some licorice?
Mommy: Maybe if you ask GG nicely.
Preston: Like this...Pleeaase...Pleeaasse, can I want some licorice? Like this, mommy!?
Mommy: Yep.
Preston: waah, waah, I cry like Eva.
Mommy: Eva is gonna get you! (I then chase him around the house, holding Eva out in front). (Eva giggles a little while chasing Preston). (Chase ends by Eva jumping on Preston and tackling him to the ground).
Preston: Eva scare me again! Eva scare me again!

There are more stories. I cannot remember all the cute things!

Then, not so cutely....
Sunday we won the Most Irreverent Family award. Daddy took Preston out of the chapel two or three times, I took Preston out two times and Eva out once. Daddy also took Preston just to the back of the chapel and Preston yells: "Mommy! Can I go out the door?!" across the chapel. When the sacrament prayer started, Preston started throwing a tantrum, screaming at the top of his lungs. Then, when the beautiful song in the middle began, Preston shouts: "Woooooo!" in obvious approval, but still...loud.
By the end of sacrament I really was wondering why we had come. But we made it through somehow. Then, to make our award official, during Priest's Quorum (the men's meeting), the Bishop stood up and said how proud he was of "Kevin's wife" and Kevin for switching the kids back and forth and making it through sacrament meeting and gave a short little discourse something like this "times like these are when you want to just throw in the towel -- they aren't getting anything out of it, we aren't getting anything out of it, why not just leave? But they stayed it out. So I just wanted to say good job."
Pretty crazy day. I thought it was pretty hilarious that the Bishop noticed how incredibly over the top Preston was that day. I really did almost go home after sacrament meeting -- I was feeling sick, but we ended up staying for all three hours of church.

Anywho, hope you like the randomness of this post.

They are so cute! Their pictures turned out so well!

I love this last shot. Preston and Eva both caught with this serious of all serious looks! So, I had to put it up in black and white just for fun. Below is the original.

Daddy's Little Girl

Eva and daddy had a very special moment together in the rocking chair. She would cry if anyone tried to take her away! They are crazy cute!

Eva Scoots for the First Time!

May 9th, 2009 (Saturday): Little Evinha scoots forward for the very first time. She has been scooting in a circle and backwards for about two weeks, but she finally moved forward and got her toy! Hooray!

Boating down Provo River

We went to the Provo River and boated down the river in a rubber raft. Preston and Eva didn't like it that much. But we got some smiles anyway. Preston thought the water was scary, but he still said, "No. I not scared of the water. Not scared of the boat."
